X, formerly named Twitter, plans to add new labels to the accounts that involve parody or similar names. The microblogging site first introduced such labels last year so that users may distinguish between accounts of different types and natures. They can know which account is real and which is a parody.

This platform owned by Elon Musk aims to reduce the problem of fake accounts through the 'parody account' label, differentiate real profiles from parodies, and improve content transparency. This is part of the platform's authenticity policy.

X's safety account informed about the parody account labels through a post. According to the company, the 'parody account' label will appear below the users' profile. It will appear on both the users' main profile page and their posts so that a clear distinction can be made between the real personality and their parody version. This will eliminate confusion and eliminate the wrong impression of any kind of affiliation.

X says that this label will indicate the source of the content, which follows the Parody, Commentary, and Fan (PCF) regulation. This regulation allows parody accounts to discuss, satirize, and share information.
