Electoral Bond: Trinamool said- People put bonds in the drop box, you got Rs 3 crore from Bajaj Group

Political parties are providing varying explanations about electoral bonds. In a letter to the Commission, the Trinamool Congress stated that their drop box contained no information about the buyers of electoral bonds. Most of these bonds were delivered to the party by messengers, drop boxes, or office addresses from various people who wished to support our party. However, the Aam Aadmi Party announced that it had received Rs 5.75 crore, of which the Bajaj Group had contributed Rs 3 crore. In addition, Torrent Pharma and BG Shirke Construction Technologies have each donated Rs 1 crore.

Congress alleged that black money reached BJP's accounts through electoral bonds. Party general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, there is an electoral bond scam and PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will have to answer for it to the country. Jairam termed freezing the accounts of Congress as terrorism and a surgical strike. Said, the party will soon approach the Supreme Court against this step of the government. Jairam wrote on social media, that the electoral bond scheme is the biggest extortion racket run by any government, through which BJP recovered more than Rs 6,900 crore from companies.

The letter sent by the BJP said that political parties have been given the freedom to disclose the source of bonds through amendments in the Representation of the People Act and Income Tax Act. In such a situation, the party is only sharing information about the amount redeemed, bank and date.

Congress sent a letter saying that the party has written a letter to SBI in this regard and has asked them to give all the information directly to the Commission in a sealed envelope. The interesting fact is that in the letter written by the bank to Congress in this regard, it has been said that every political party has complete information related to electoral bonds. In such a situation, the bank is only providing the statement of the amount deposited in the Congress account. Congress has sent the same statement to the Commission.
