In the Karnataka land scam case, ED continued raids in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) office for the second consecutive day on Saturday. ED has taken action based on a complaint regarding the allotment of 14 plots to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah BM Parvati. The authorities have barred the entry of outsiders into the premises of the MUDA office. According to Jagran sources during the investigation, vital documents related to ownership, withdrawal of notification, and land conversion were reportedly found missing.

Union minister Ms, Shobha Karandlaje accused Karnataka Urban Development Minister Byrathi Suresh saying that he burnt all files relating to the MUDA case to save the CM Siddaramaiah. On the same lines, the BJP has demanded the seizure of passports of all the accused in the case related to MUDA.

It is relevant to mention that ED officials, assisted by CRPF personnel, raided the MUDA office and its tehsil office beside the premises of Devaraju, an accused in the case, in Kengeri, Bengaluru since Friday morning.

Sources said the searches have been initiated after the agency shot off several letters to MUDA seeking answers to over three dozen questions pertaining to its land acquisition and allotment policies, but did not get any satisfactory replies.

ED had registered a complaint on September 30 against the Chief Minister and others, taking cognizance of the Lokayukta FIR in the case, which is similar to a police FIR. The Chief Minister was accused of irregularities in the allotment of 14 plots by MUDA to his wife BM Parvathi at a prime location in Mysuru.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday accused that he was unnecessarily being targeted in the case of fake allotment of land. He claimed that the conspiracy was being hatched against him because he happens to be from a backward class community and becomes the Chief Minister for the second time.

The BJP has complained that the Mysuru Urban Development Authority has allotted a plot worth crores in a posh area to the Chief Minister's wife Parvati, which is seen as an illegal alternative allotment of land. However, the documents said this plot in the posh area had been given to her in exchange for acquiring about four acres of land owned by Parvati.
