Kathmandu (Nepal): Dr. Pooja Singh, a researcher from Pantnagar University, was awarded the Global Young Scientist Award for her remarkable achievement in developing tiles from factory ash. The award was presented to her at the 7th International Seminar GABELS (Global Approaches in Agriculture, Biological, Environmental and Life Sciences for Sustainable Future), organized by ATDS (Agriculture and Technology Development Society), Swami Vivekanand and Subharti University, Meerut, from June 8 to 10 in Kathmandu (Nepal). Dr. Singh was also awarded the Second Prize for her presentation in the Nano Material Science Competition.

Dr. Singh has been working on her research under the guidance of Dr. M.G.H. Zaidi, Professor of Chemistry, for the past three years. During the conference, participants represented 14 different countries, including 24 states of India, all parts of Nepal, and the USA, UK, Bangladesh, Germany, Qatar, Uzbekistan, and the UAE. The seminar also honored selected scientists for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields.

Vice Chancellor Dr. M.S. Chauhan, Dean CBSA Dr. Sandeep Arora, and Advisor Dr. M.G.H. Zaidi congratulated Pooja on her achievement and wished her a bright future.

Pooja Singh, the daughter of farmer Radhamohan Singh of Shaktipur village, Tiliapur, Rudrapur, says, "My vision and mission are to create sustainable, affordable, and environmentally friendly products through the 'Waste to Wealth' model for my country and the world, so that we can build a better society for future generations."
