Double iSmart OTT Release: Sanjay Dutt and Ram Pothineni’s Action Thriller Now Streaming on Prime Video

New Delhi: While Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 continues to dominate the box office, the Sanjay Dutt and Ram Pothineni starrer Double iSmart, which released on August 15, has made its way to OTT within just 25 days of its theatrical release. Prime Video has announced the global streaming premiere of the Telugu action sci-fi thriller Double iSmart on September 5. The film, directed, written, and produced by Puri Jagannadh under the Puri Connects banner, stars Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles, alongside Sayaji Shinde, Kavya Thapar, and Bani J in pivotal roles.

Double iSmart is now available in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada on Prime Video, reaching audiences in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Despite being made on a hefty budget of ₹90 crores, the film has struggled at the box office, collecting only ₹40 crores in 25 days, resulting in a significant loss of ₹50 crores for the makers. According to initial figures from box office tracker Sacnilk, the film opened with a decent ₹7.35 crores on its first day, with ₹6.9 crores from the Telugu version and ₹45 lakhs from the Hindi version. However, the collection dropped to ₹2.25 crores on the second day and could only reach ₹9.60 crores in India. The movie witnessed a gradual decline in earnings thereafter.

The sudden OTT release of Double iSmart might just be the fresh start the film needs, hoping to attract a wider audience globally.
