The previous close saw a gain of 3 paise against the rupee. The 6-currency dollar index closed at 102.54, up 0.29 percent today. On Friday, the rupee had closed at 81.90 against the dollar.
Crude oil prices on Friday slipped 0.16 percent to USD 76.49 per barrel, the benchmark Brent crude. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were buyers in the capital market on Friday, with FIIs buying shares worth Rs 794.78 crore, according to the data.
