Discount on roadway fare for devotees: 50% discount on basic fare for going to Urs, Khatushyamji, Diggi Kalyan Ji
Rajasthan Roadways has issued an order to give an exemption in bus fare to the passengers going to the fairs held at 11 religious places. Earlier, fare concession was given by the roadways only in four Lakhi fairs held in Rajasthan. This discount on fare will be 50 percent on the basic fare.
According to the orders issued by Nathmal Didel, MD, Rajasthan Roadways, so far the government has reduced the bus fare by 30 percent to the pilgrims visiting Pushkar Mela in Ajmer, Kailadevi in Karauli, Jheel Ka Bada in Bharatpur and Shriramdevra ji's fair in Jaisalmer. The exemption was given. In the budget 2023-24, Chief Minister Gehlot announced to increase in this discount from 30 to 50 percent and to give discounts in 11 other fairs apart from these fairs.
Rajasthan Roadways has now organized Urs Mela in Ajmer, Khatu Shyamji in Sikar, Salasar Balaji in Churu, Gogamedi in Hanumangarh, Beneshwar Dham in Dungarpur, Ranthambore Ganesh ji in Sawai Madhopur, Diggi Kalyan ji in Tonk, Bhrithari/Pandupol in Alwar, Budhada in Ganganagar. Johad Guru will also give a 50 percent discount on the fare to the pilgrims going to Phalgun (Mukam) in Bikaner and Sawariya Seth (Jaljhulni Ekadashi Mela) in Chittorgarh.
According to the roadways officials, special buses will be run by the roadways for these fairs and only those buses will get the benefit of this discount. This exemption will be available only within the limits of Rajasthan.
