Dinesh Karthik did not say goodbye to cricket, will make a splash in Legends League Cricket
Dinesh Karthik Joins Legends League Cricket: Dinesh Karthik, who said goodbye to all formats of international cricket, has joined LLC, which is a new chapter in his illustrious career.
Legends League Cricket has just latched on to one of the finest white-ball finishers India has ever produced, Dinesh Karthik. He announced his retirement from international as well as domestic cricket earlier in the year. A fierce batsman down the order, tempered with sound and quick glove work behind the stumps, he has excelled even more as a commentator in his latter role. The recent development of Karthik joining LCC may be considered a new chapter in his illustrious career.
On joining the Legends League Cricket, Dinesh Karthik said, "The fact that I have already retired from the game and will soon start playing Legends League Cricket is something that will keep me on my feet. I will be up for the challenge both mentally and physically and looking forward to playing the kind of cricket that I have always loved to play. Thank you fans for your endless support and hope I can entertain you on the field once again ".
Karthik, who played for the country in 180 matches in all three formats, piled up 3463 runs with his only Test century and 17 half-centuries. Karthik also has 172 dismissals to his credit: most of them against the wicket and few in the outfield. Karthik ended his illustrious IPL career with 4,842 runs from 257 matches with 22 half-centuries. In his IPL career, Karthik played with six franchises. He made his debut in the inaugural season in 2008 with Delhi Daredevils, which is now known as Delhi Capitals. He shifted base to Punjab in 2011 and went on to represent Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Lions, Kolkata Knight Riders, and RCB.
Welcoming Karthik to the league, Raman Raheja, Co-Founder, Legends League Cricket said, “We are very excited to have Dinesh Karthik join us. His talent and his knack for finishing matches and entertaining the audience will undoubtedly add value to Legends League Cricket. We are looking forward to seeing him in action along with other cricket legends, further strengthening our position as the second innings for legendary cricketers.”
