Afghanistan all-rounder Gulbadin Naib has had to pay a heavy price for disagreeing with the umpire's decision during the second T20 International match played against Zimbabwe in Harare. For this, he has been fined 15 percent. Afghanistan had tied the series 1-1 by winning this match.

In this regard, the International Cricket Council (ICC) issued a release stating that Afghanistan's Gulbadin Naib has been found guilty of violating Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct. He has also been fined 15 percent of his match fee.

Gulbadin Naib was found to have breached Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Support Personnel, which pertains to showing dissent by a batsman upon a decision given by an Umpire in an International Cricket Match.

Off the pitch, aside from the fine by the ICC, a demerit point has also been imposed against former Afghanistan captain Gulbadin Naib's first offense in 24 months. The cricketer accepted his offense in the matter and proposed a penalty by match referee Paddy Pycroft. Because of this, there was no need for a formal hearing.

During the 11th over of Zimbabwe's innings, an appeal for LBW was made against Tashinga Musekiwa on Rashid Khan's ball, which was rejected by the umpire. The ICC said, that despite DRS not being available in the match, Gulbadin Naib showed disagreement with the umpire's decision by bowing ostentatiously and requesting a review.
