Tesla has officially said that the delivery of Cybertruck will start from November 30. This delivery event will take place at Tesla's Gigafactory in Austin, Texas. Once launched, the Cybertruck will compete with the likes of the GMC Hummer EV, Rivian R1T, and Ford F-150 Lightning.
In addition to revealing the delivery date, Tesla also tweeted that production of the Cybertruck remains on track for the end of this year. During Tesla's Q3 earnings call, Elon Musk said that scaling up production of the Cybertruck is a "huge challenge." Bookings for the Cybertruck are still open, but it looks like its waiting period is going to be quite long.
It is expected that the Tesla Cybertruck will be offered in three variants. There will be a single-motor, rear-wheel drive version which will be the most economical, then a dual-motor version which should come with all-wheel drive. Also, the top-of-the-range variant will be a tri-motor variant which is the most powerful.
Tesla says the Cybertruck can carry 1,580 kilograms in its cargo bed. Its pulling capacity will also vary depending on the variant. The single-motor variant will be capable of pulling 3,400 kg, the dual-motor variant will have a capacity of 4,500 kg while the top-end triple-motor variant will be capable of pulling 6,300 kg.
