Delhi government to set up 185 camps for Kanwariyas

This year, the Kejriwal government is going above and above to welcome Kanwariyas to Delhi. Addressing a press conference, Atishi said around 15 to 20 lakh kanwars are expected to pass through Delhi. Revenue Minister Atishi declared that 185 Kanwar camps will be established up around the city to provide the finest possible amenities for devotees. The Kanwar camps will be provided with fully weatherproof tents, medical supplies, clean water, bathrooms, and furniture, as well as all required services. The Delhi Revenue Department has been preparing for the camps since June, with continuous inspections by the Minister in Charge and top officials.

She confirmed the government's commitment to helping Shiv Bhakts throughout the holy month of Sawan, ensuring that all necessary efforts are taken to provide good services to Kanwariyas or Bhakts.  She stated that Kanwariyas would begin arriving in Delhi on 25th July , with all Kanwar camps likely to be completely equipped within the following 2-3 days. The majority of these camps are being set up in East Delhi, North-East Delhi, and Shahdara districts, which serve as key entry-exit points for the Kanwariyas.

Minister Atishi urged Delhi residents to join in this holy deed, show their solidarity, and assist Kanwariyas wherever possible. She emphasized that during the holy month of Sawan, particularly in North India, Kanwariyas transport water from Haridwar. To accommodate them, the Delhi government provides the greatest amenities via the Kanwar camps.

This year, the Shahdara district will have the most camps (38), followed by North-East, Central, and East Delhi, with 29, 22, and 19 camps, respectively. The minister further emphasized that the Kejriwal government has been committed to delivering the best amenities for Kanwariyas from its start and planned to ensure the Kanwariyas enjoy a smooth journey.
