Regarding the 2011 death of former England cricketer Peter Roebuck, a significant discovery has emerged. He was in Cape Town at the time to provide colour commentary for the Australia vs. South Africa game. During this time, Peter Roebuck died after falling from the hotel room. After 13 years of intensive investigation, it was discovered that Roebuck had committed suicide by jumping from his hotel room. According to the investigation, he appeared to be in a depressed state following the police questioning regarding the alleged incident of sexual harassment. He had committed suicide, according to the Cheshire Coroner's Court in northwest England as well.

Somerset's first-class county captain at one point in time was Peter Roebuck. The incident in Cape Town in 2011 happened when Peter Roebuck was 55 years old. At the time, word of his passing was reported in the media. Roebuck was a member of the commentary team for Australia vs. South Africa in November 2011. A 26-year-old man reportedly accused Peter Roebuck of groping him in a hotel room on November 7.

The police team then went to the hotel to arrest Peter on 12 November. The police officer reported that he heard his colleague, Lieutenant Cecil Jacobs, yelling at Roebuck. After some time a loud sound came. Then information was received that this sound was of Peter falling from the hotel balcony.

According to the information, in 1999, a case was registered against Peter Roebuck for beating three young South African cricketers who lived with him. Two years later in that case, Roebuck also received a suspended prison sentence for common assault in England in 2001.
