D Gukesh made the lead for the eighth draw consecutively. Gukesh wants to become the Youngest Classical Chess Champion in History. The 11th Match of the final round in the World Chess Championship was one of the thrilling games in which both the players spent almost one hour for the same move. Gukeshan defeated Champion Ding Liren and made the score of the match 6-5, with only three games left ahead.

A visibly disappointed Ding said in the post-game interview, "It was a very difficult game for me. Already on the fourth move, I wasn't sure whether I had made the right choice or not. I remembered a game I played in a rapid tournament against GM Adhiban, but I didn't remember the other moves. I spent 40 minutes calculating some nonsense variations.

The lack of time was decisive on this occasion. With only seven minutes left for the game to end, Ding made a mistake on the 28th move, losing a pawn in a one-move combination. Instead of 28…Nb4, giving back his extra pawn with good draw chances, he played the losing 28…Qc8 and after 29.Qxc6 he lost.

At the same time, Gukesh said that congratulations to my entire team for preparing for this opening, which surprised my opponent. Then I did some stupid things, but I am happy that I was able to bring it back. While Ding Liren recalled that he had managed to make a comeback in the twelfth game in the previous match. So I hope to play well in the next game.
