Cyclone Mandaus warning in 3 states of South: Heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, cold increases in North India
The weather has changed in many states of the country. On one hand, winter has started increasing in North India, while on the other hand, the rainy season has started in the southern states. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding cyclonic storm Mandaus in three southern states. Due to this storm, rain has started in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu.
At the same time, due to rain in the south, there is a possibility of increasing cold in North India. According to the Meteorological Department, a western disturbance is likely to affect Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas. Due to this, there may be light snowfall in the mountains. Cloud cover and rain are expected for the next three days from Wednesday in the states of North India including Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. Due to this, there is a possibility of starting a new phase of winter in North India.
The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain from Wednesday to Friday. According to the department, there is a possibility of heavy rains with strong storms in North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and South Andhra Pradesh after the next two days i.e. on Thursday. There is a red alert in 13 districts of South. 6 teams of NDRF have been deployed.
Cyclone Mandaus has been named by the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In Arabic it means treasure. This is the second storm in the Bay of Bengal after the monsoon this year. Earlier in October, the Sitrang storm hit the coast of Bangladesh.
Jammu and Kashmir's temperature dropped to minus 3.4 degree Celsius on Tuesday. This is the lowest temperature of this season. A day before this it was minus 2.2 degree Celsius. At the same time, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday morning, one degree below normal. The AQI here remained at 343. This is a very bad category. There is a possibility of further fall in the temperature in the next two days in the capital.
In Madhya Pradesh, on Tuesday, from ground to sky, the city remained shrouded in fog and mist. A cold wind blew at a speed of 16 kmph throughout the day. The day temperature in the capital Bhopal was recorded at 25.6 degrees. It remained 2 degrees below normal. After 18 days in the city, the day temperature remained below 26 degrees. Earlier on November 20, the day temperature was recorded at 25.7 degrees. There are chances of cloudy and foggy conditions and a drop in temperature on Wednesday as well.
