Where the winter is increasing in the states of North India, the rainy season is still going on in the south. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the deep pressure created in South India, there is a possibility of cyclonic storm Mandous. Its effect will be seen in the southern regions. Coasts of Puducherry, North Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh will be affected from 8 to 11 December.
An alert has been issued for these areas. On the other hand, there is a possibility of heavy rains for the next three days with strong winds of 70 km per hour on 9 December. On Wednesday too, a deep depression formed over the southwest and adjoining the southeast Bay of Bengal. On Thursday, Cyclone Mandus lay about 500 km east-southeast of Karaikal and 580 km southeast of Chennai.
There is a possibility of heavy rains in some areas of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh. On December 10, the speed of strong winds will decrease to 50-60 kmph in these areas by the afternoon. After that, it will reach a speed of 40-50 by night.
Meanwhile, the state government has advised fishermen not to venture into the Sri Lankan coast and Bay of Bengal for the next four days. The NDRF team is also in alert mode. Our team is ready to deal with any situation. Whenever we are called for help, we will immediately reach the spot.
At the same time, Andhra Pradesh District Collector Y Harinarayanan has asked officials of all departments to be vigilant. In view of the cyclonic storm from December 8 to December 11, it has been ordered to be ready for relief operations.
