The diesel variant of Mahindra Scorpio sold 92 percent last month. A total of 13,717 units of this car were sold. Out of these, 12,611 units were diesel variants and only 1,106 units of petrol variants were sold. In May 2024, Mahindra manufactured 12,553 units of diesel and 1,208 units of the petrol variant in the Scorpio range. Now, if you take the case of last year, it amounts to 7,242 units of diesel variant and 628 units of petrol variant.
Now, going by the figures mentioned above, it can be said that even though CNG and electric cars have knocked on the Indian market. Despite this, the demand for diesel engines has not decreased yet. Moreover, the demand increased in the SUV segment. The intense power, better performance on the road, and economical diesel engine attracted customers to the Mahindra Scorpio.
This Mahindra Scorpio comes with a 2.2-liter mHawk diesel, which has a maximum power of 130 bhp and peak torque of 300 Nm. This car has an option of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission; according to the company, it gives 14 to 15 km per liter mileage.
