Crowds enter madrassa in Karnataka on Dussehra: chanted 'Jai Shri Ram', worshiped; Case registered against 9 people
Some people participating in the Dussehra rally in the Bidar district of Karnataka barged into an old madrasa. Here these people raised slogans and also worshiped in a corner of the madrasa. In this case, the police have registered a case against 9 people, but no one has been arrested so far. Muslim communities say they will protest if no arrests are made by Friday.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has accused the BJP government of the state of trying to humiliate Muslims by promoting such incidents. This madrasa named Mahmud Gawan was built in 1460. This madrasa comes under the Archaeological Survey of India. This building is also included in the list of important monuments of the country.
Police said that this mob broke the lock of the madrasa on Wednesday evening. After this, standing on the steps of the madrasa, he raised slogans of Jai Shri Ram and Hindu Dharma Jai, then stood in a corner of the madrasa and also worshiped. A video related to this matter is doing the rounds on social media, in which the mob is seen trying to enter the madrasa by standing on the stairs.
A local police officer says that a case has been registered against nine people, but no one has been arrested so far. Several Muslim organizations in Bidar held protests condemning the incident. The organizations demand that the accused be arrested. Failure to do so will result in large-scale demonstrations on Friday after Namaz.
