CPEC Project: Whatever the international scenario, we will always stand with Pakistan: Xi Jinping
A ceremony was held in Islamabad on Monday to mark the completion of 10 years of China's ambitious project China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The $ 60 billion CPEC project under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is very important for us. This further strengthens our everlasting friendship. Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng is on a three-day visit to Pakistan from Sunday to attend the ceremony.
CPEC connects Pakistan's Balochistan and China's Xinjiang province through Gwadar Port. India has been opposing it because of passing through slave Kashmir. Protests have been taking place even inside Pakistan regarding this plan of China. On Sunday, a day before the ceremony on Monday, 54 people were killed in a suicide terror attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
