Gujarat is in third place with 34 patients, Karnataka and Maharashtra are in fourth place with eight patients and Rajasthan is in fifth place with five patients. Apart from this, 2 cases have been reported in Telangana, 1 in Delhi and 1 in Odisha. With the detection of the variant in Odisha, the number of states affected by it has increased to 10. The total number of states in India is 28 and nine union territories.
The Health Ministry has said that 636 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in India on Monday. There were three deaths due to COVID-19 on this day. Of these, two are from Kerala and one patient is from Tamil Nadu. The total number of active coronavirus cases in the country has reached 4,394. The reason for the increase in the number of patients is believed to be JN.1 sub-variants and BA.2.86.
In four years, more than 4.5 crore people were infected with Coronavirus. Due to this, more than 5.3 lakh people have died so far. However, the number of people recovering from this infection is more than 4.4 crores. The national recovery rate due to this is 98.81 per cent.
