Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised CJI DY Chandrachud. The CJI had said that soon copies of the decisions of the Supreme Court would be available in Hindi and other languages of the country. Regarding this, PM Modi said that this is a very good idea, which will help many people, especially the youth.
The CJI, who arrived in Mumbai on Saturday to attend the program of the Council of Maharashtra and Goa (BCMG), had indicated translating the court's decisions into other languages through Artificial Intelligence (AI). He said that with this the people living in the villages would be able to easily get information about the decisions in their own language. He had earlier said – Courts should be paperless, this is my mission.
Chief Justice Chandrachud said that we do not need to cover the flaws of our system. We should try to repair it by bringing it to the fore. He stressed the use of technology to remove the difficulties faced in getting information related to the court.
The Chief Justice also insisted on live-streaming of court proceedings. He said that teachers and students interested in law can watch, understand and discuss any case through live streaming. When you discuss an issue live, you get to know how much injustice is happening in society.
The CJI said that the country's court system is built for the people and the system cannot be above the individual. Addressing the young lawyers who reached the program, he said that I wish you to fly high and make your dreams come true.
Emphasizing social gatherings in the court, the CJI said – The more opportunities are given to young and new lawyers, the more prosperous will be the legal profession. We should not limit the opportunity to certain people, for this, it is necessary to give opportunities to lawyers from marginalized communities. He said- I listen to young lawyers daily for half an hour in the Supreme Court, it shows the pulse of the country.
Justice Chandrachud also launched the news-views channel of BCMG. News-views is the country's first council news channel. He also released the Civil and Criminal Practice Handbook prepared by BCMG for young lawyers. A copy of this handbook will be provided free of cost to 50,000 young lawyers.
