Coal India Fourth Quarter Results: Net profit down 18% to ₹5,528 crores in Q4FY23, company to pay ₹4 per share dividend to investors
Coal India has announced its Q4FY23 ie fourth quarter (January-March) results on Sunday (May 7). The company's net profit year-on-year (YoY) declined by 18% to Rs 5,528 crore in the quarter.
However, for the entire FY23, the company's profit has seen a jump of 62% and has reached Rs 28125 crore. While in FY22 the company had a profit of Rs 17378 crore.
The company's revenue from operations in the fourth quarter of FY23 stood at Rs 38,152 crore as against Rs 32,709 crore in the same quarter of FY22. This means that the company's revenue has increased by 17% on an annual basis (YOY).
At the same time, the company's coal production increased by 7% to 224.1 million tonnes in the March quarter, compared to 180.2 million tonnes in the quarter ending March 2022. The company's sales in the fourth quarter increased to Rs 35,161.44 crore from Rs 29,985.45 crore in the same quarter last year.
The Board of Directors of the company in its meeting today has also declared a final dividend of Rs.4 per equity share for its shareholders. Earlier, the company paid a total dividend of Rs 20.25 per share twice. The company had earlier given an interim dividend of Rs 15 per share and then Rs 5.25 per share. On Friday, the company's stock had closed at Rs 237.60, up Rs 0.15.
