CNG and PNG prices increased in Mumbai making it the sixth hike since April
Due to the increased rates in natural gas, prices of compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) have increased in Mumbai. In the country's financial capital, Mumbai, Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has increased the prices of CNG by Rs 6 per kg. Apart from this, the price of PNG has also increased in the city. The price of PNG has now been increased by Rs 4 per unit.
As per the information provided, after this increase, now the retail price of CNG in Mumbai has increased to Rs 86 per kg, while the price of domestic PNG has increased by Rs 4 to Rs 52.50 per unit.
Let us also tell you that this is the sixth hike in the prices of CNG and PNG since April this year. Earlier, on July 12, MGL had increased the prices. At that time the price of CNG was increased by Rs 6 per kg and that of PNG by Rs 3 per Standard Cubic Meter (SCM).
Increased prices due to cost escalation
According to MGL, it has been decided to compensate for the cost due to the increase in gas cost. Let us inform you that GAIL has announced an increase of 18% in the prices of natural gas supplied to city gas companies. With this announcement, the prices of CNG and PNG have started increasing in the cities throughout the country.
Before this, the price of CNG increased in Lucknow, on Monday, Green Gas Limited in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, increased the prices of CNG by Rs 5.3 per kg. After this increase, the price of CNG in Lucknow has now gone up to 96.10 per kg.
