Citroen may soon introduce the Basalt Coupe SUV in India. According to Jagran, the company can introduce this SUV in August 2024. After which this SUV can be launched in the festival season. However, the company has not given any official information about this yet.

The company is testing the Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV in stages before launching it. It was noticed during testing a while ago. It lacked features like projector headlights and alloy wheels. From the front, the unit seen during testing looked similar to the C3 Aircross, with a coupe-like roofline.

Citroen's Basalt SUV will be the company's fourth offering in the Indian market. Which can be positioned between the C3 and C5 Aircross models. Currently, C5 Aircross is available in India in addition to C3 and C3 Aircross with ICE. Aside from that, the company offers eC3 in the electric segment.

According to Jagran, the company can provide a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine in this car like other cars. Apart from this, the option of a turbo engine can also be available in it. Due to this the manual variant of the SUV will get 110 PS of power and 190 Newton meters of torque. At the same time, the variant with a six-speed automatic transmission can get 110 PS of power and 205 Newton meters of torque.

Citroen's Basalt will be launched in the Coupe SUV segment in the Indian market. Currently, no company offers a vehicle in this segment. But Curvv will be launched by Tata soon. In such a situation, Citroen Basalt will compete directly with Tata Curvv.
