Anekal Firecracker Shop Fire: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited the accident site on Sunday after the death of 14 people in a firecracker shop in Annikal city on Saturday. He said that the shop license was recently renewed. No firefighting device was also found in the shop. This is completely the negligence of the shop owner. So I am investigating the incident to CID.

14 people died in a fire in a firecracker factory in Anekal city of Karnataka. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday handed over the investigation to the CID. He said that the shop owner was negligent. He has been taken into custody by the police.

After visiting the accident site, Chief Minister Sidaramaiah said that the shop license was recently renewed. No firefighting device was also found in the shop. This is completely the negligence of the shop owner. So I am investigating the incident to CID.

Siddaramaiah said that 14 people died in the incident. All are from Tamil Nadu. Most of them are students. They were here to collect money for their studies.

Deputy CM DK Shivkumar also visited the spot on Sunday. He said that we are going to bring an action plan, which we have to adopt in two to three days. We have announced five lakh rupees for those who died earlier. The expenses incurred on the treatment of the injured in the hospital will also be taken care of.

Police say that the shop workers were unloading firecrackers from a vehicle at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. The fire burned seven two-wheelers, a container lorry, and three other vehicles.
