Self baggage drop facility has been started with a view to making Hyderabad airport more convenient for passengers. This will make it much easier for passengers to check in at the airport than before. This facility has currently been started near entry gate number 9 of the airport.
In a press release issued by GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL), it was told that eight fully automatic self-baggage machines have been installed at the airport. Scanners, scales, and sensors have been used in the machine, with the help of which one can check in their luggage at the airport in just 45 to 60 seconds.
Passengers will have to approach the self-check-in kiosks to print their boarding passes. They can then select the baggage option, and print the bag tag after entering all the required information.
After baggage tagging, passengers will have to proceed to the self-bag drop unit. Where after placing the baggage on the conveyor belt, the bar code on your boarding pass needs to be scanned to initiate the process.
After this, the process machine will start the baggage check-in and if everything is fine then the bags will be sent to the airline for confirmation. If during this time any bag is rejected by the machine, then the agent present there will help you or you can go to the counter of the airline.
Pradeep Panicker, CEO, of GHIAL, said, “We are delighted to add the new self-baggage facility at Hyderabad Airport. This will improve the traveling experience of the passengers. This will also speed up the check-in process. We will continue to invest in new technology and remain committed to providing the best-in-class passenger experience.
