ChatGPT down again, second major outage in a month
ChatGPT Down: OpenAI's API and text-to-video tool Sora also remained down during this time. Shortly after the outage, the company said that the problem of Sora has been resolved and work is going on on ChatGPT and API.
OpenAI's AI tool ChatGPT was down once again. People started facing problems in ChatGPT at around 12 o'clock on Thursday night as per Indian time. This has also been confirmed by the outage tracking site DownDetector. Users were getting the message of an internal server error on ChatGPT.
American users have been most affected by ChatGPT being down. According to the report, this outage continued for about 1 hour. OpenAI also confirmed this outage on X and said that work is being done rapidly to fix it.
This problem did not occur due to OpenAI but from the server provider Microsoft, and Microsoft also confirmed it. In addition, many services belonging to Microsoft were disrupted as well, including Xbox cloud gaming. OpenAI's API along with the text-to-video tool Sora were also down during that moment. Shortly after the outage, the company said the problem with Sora is resolved and work on ChatGPT and API has started.
It also went down with Meta's outage earlier this month. Just on December 11, some hours after the announcement of its integration with iPhone, iPad, and Mac, a major outage hit ChatGPT, which temporarily shut the service down across the globe.
The company, within minutes of the outage, then confirmed it and brought the AI chatbot back online by fixing the bug. In fact, in the early days of November, ChatGPT also went down.
