With the end of the Holi festival in the country, severe heat has started in the country. Heat wave-like conditions have been created in the majority of Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan. The temperature has crossed 40 degrees in the majority of the state's cities. It is for the second time in 3 years that the heat wave season has come in the first half of March. Mercury has been more than 38 degrees in 11 states of the country in the recent past. These states have cities like Rajkot, Barmer, and Panaji.
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the temperature will definitely decrease in Gujarat and the adjoining Rajasthan and Konkan regions of the western coast. But the period of the heat wave will continue. There is a possibility of severe heat waves in Vidarbha of Maharashtra on 13-14 March, Odisha on 13 to 16 March, Jharkhand on 14 to 16 March, and West Bengal on 18 March. Strong winds will blow in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, UP, Bihar, and Rajasthan during the next one week.

There is a possibility of rain in the northeastern states of Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Prades,h and Nagaland for the next 4 to 5 days.
Whereas, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, western Rajasthan and entire western India may see a drop in temperature by two to three degrees for the next 5 days. Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and central India may see a drop in maximum temperature during the next three days.r
