Airtel plans will be expensive: Chairman of the company said, 'Airtel is considering increasing the rates of all plans this year'
Airtel may increase the prices of its plans in the coming days. Airtel Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal said that Airtel is considering increasing the rates of all plans this year. He said this in response to a question at the Mobile World Congress.
Mittal said that the company has infused a lot of capital which has strengthened the balance sheet, but the return on investment is one of the lowest in the telecom industry. This needs to change. We are going to increase the rates of the plans in a small way, which is necessary to bring the tariffs to the right position. However, he has not been told how much there can be an increase in the plans.
Airtel had increased the price of the plan in 8 circles of the country including Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and West Uttar Pradesh in the last month i.e. January. In this, the charge for 200 MB internet and calls was 2.5 paise per second.
According to media reports, the company is planning to eliminate all calling and SMS tariffs below Rs 155 for 28 days. If this happens, then a user will have to do a recharge of at least Rs 155 to keep the SIM active.
The company's average revenue per user (ARPU) is currently Rs 193. The company wants to take it up to Rs 300 by increasing the plans. The average revenue per user (ARPU) is the average amount that companies earn from a user every month.
