The Ministry of Electronics and IT has requested that all social media platforms, including intermediary platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, stop posting news related to bomb rumors. If this happens on any platform, it will be the platform's duty to take down the misleading information and inform the authorities about those who post it. Otherwise, the Indian Justice Code 2023 and the IT Act will force them to deal with the consequences.

It is worth mentioning here that the bomb rumors were continuously spread in the airplanes in the last few days. More than 125 times in the last one week, fake news of bombs in the plane has been spread, due to which the passengers have been panicked and lost crore to the airlines.

It is informed that news about bomb rumors, due to options of forwarding, re-posting or re-tweeting on social media and intermediary platforms, gets a dangerous form and there is a possibility of affecting the security of passengers as well as the country's security and economy. Therefore, such posts should, as a matter of responsibility, be banned by all social media along with intermediaries from running on their platforms, removed immediately and intimate the government about those who post such posts within 72 hours.

Threats were given to 27 domestic and international flights on Friday. Those threats have proved to be fake. On Thursday, there was a threat to blow up 83 planes across the country. More than 300 flights run by Indian airlines have been targeted in bomb threats within the last 12 days. Most of the threats were given through internet media. Security at all airports in the country has been stepped up in view of such threats.

An IndiGo spokesperson said on Friday that a total of seven flights, including 6E 87 (from Kozhikode to Dammam, Saudi Arabia) received security-related information. Seven flights each of Vistara and SpiceJet also received threats. As many as six Air India flights received threats. A bomb was reported in SpiceJet's flight from Delhi to Darbhanga. All the passengers were searched when the flight reached the airport. During the probe, it turned out the bomb information was false.
