CBI officers reached Sandeshkhali, raided Shahjahan Sheikh's house  

Sandeshkhali village located in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal is in discussion these days. The women of the village have alleged that Shahjahan Sheikh, along with occupying their land, has also sexually exploited some women. There is an uproar regarding the attack on the ED team. The entire politics of Bengal is currently wandering around Sandeshkhali. Meanwhile, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials on Friday raided the Sandeshkhali house of suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Shaikh.

Apart from this, CBI also visited the areas near Shahjahan Sheikh's house in the Akunchipara area of Saraberia to collect evidence in connection with the attack on ED.

One of the accused in the ration scam is Shahjahan Sheikh. Shahjahan's home in the North 24 Parganas district was raided by ED officials on January 5 as part of their investigation into the ration distribution scam. The ED officers and the central forces that were with them were then encircled by a sizable group of supporters of the Trinamool Congress. They then began to demonstrate before attacking him. From there, the team was forced to depart by the protestors. In this case, Sheikh was just taken into custody.

Officials from the ED and forensic departments are working with the CBI team on the investigation. According to officials, a sizable contingent of central forces has been stationed nearby to safeguard the central agencies. At the same time, CBI officials entered inside by breaking the seal imposed on Sheikh's house by ED. Officials are also doing videography and mapping of the area for investigation.

The Sandeshkhali area, located on the borders of the Sundarbans, about 100 km from Kolkata, has been on the boil with protests against Shah Jahan and his supporters for more than a month. The women of the village had recently alleged that TMC leader Shahjahan Shaikh and other TMC leaders had taken over their lands and some women had also accused TMC leaders of sexual exploitation. Women protested in Sandeshkhali regarding this. BJP workers are also protesting in Sandeshkhali. Shahjahan Sheikh is an accused in the ration scam and Shahjahan Sheikh is also an accused in the attack on the ED team recently. Whereas Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has accused the BJP of doing politics on this issue.
