England captain Ben Stokes has suffered another hamstring injury while bowling on the third day of the third Test against New Zealand in Hamilton. 33-year-old Stokes suffered a hamstring injury in August. Once again, after the injury, he had to leave the field in the middle of the match. The management of the England team has confirmed that Stokes is being treated for a left hamstring problem and will not bat during New Zealand's innings. A further decision on his involvement in England's second innings will be taken later.

There remains uncertainty over the severity of Ben Stokes' recent injury but his absence will no doubt be a big blow to England, as his leadership has been very good, and he has contributed all-round in this series. The team management is keeping a close eye on his condition and will take a call on his participation in the remaining matches in due course.

England are 2-0 ahead in the series now, a lead that cannot be overturned. In the Test going on in Hamilton, Ben Stokes bowled 23 overs in New Zealand's first innings, the most he has bowled in a single day in his 110-Test career. Also, in this series, he bowled 66.3 overs as captain, the most in a series.
