CAPA: Air India CEO Campbell Wilson has said that a lot of things are being done to change the airline, but most of their focus is on integration, growth, maximum utilization, and improving customer experience. On the other hand, SpiceJet CMD Ajay Singh has claimed that it is difficult to finish his airline.
Air India chief Campbell Wilson on Wednesday told about the airline's future plans. He said that Air India will repair more than 100 aircraft including 40 large aircraft as part of improving its fleet. For this, the company has ordered about 25,000 aircraft seats as part of its fleet expansion plan. Wilson said that a lot of things are being done to change Air India, but most of their focus is on integration, growth, maximum utilization, and improving customer experience.
AIX Connect, formerly known as AirAsia India, Air India Express, and Vistara is being merged into Air India as part of Tata Group's plan to strengthen its aviation business. Air India's chief executive officer and managing director said at the CAPA India Aviation Summit in New Delhi that whether it is full-fledged flight service or low-cost services, these provide the group with "a lot of flexibility".
According to him, Air India has put more than 100 aircraft back into service and about 25,000 seats have also been ordered as part of the rebuild of aircraft. On the cost of the airline industry, Wilson said that airfares are rising less rapidly than the overall inflation. He said that Air India has launched a five-year transformation plan for change. Wilson said that "a lot of things" are going on under it. Talking about the change and possible partnerships, Wilson said that the new Air India is not like the old Air India and people (other airlines) now want to do like us. On the issue of bilateral rights, the Air India chief said that a practical approach should be adopted in this matter.
SpiceJet CEO Ajay Singh said at the conference on Wednesday that the airline plans to raise $250 million in the next months as it expands its operations. Singh stated that the airline has experienced numerous obstacles, including the lessor and debt crisis. He stated, "It's difficult to finish SpiceJet. "We are attempting to resolve the issues." He emphasized that the airline's balance sheet would be cleaned up within the following two quarters. Recently, the airline raised $150 million. Along with this, attempts are underway to raise more funding.
Ajay Singh stated during the CAPA India Aviation Summit that the airline intends to raise $ 250 million in capital in the next months. He said that our future is bright enough. SpiceJet Chairman and Managing Director Singh said that we will increase our fleet. Singh said that there are many aviation hubs in India and keeping this in view, we will have to take all necessary steps.
