According to federal prosecutors, Dr. Tien Tan Vo has pleaded guilty in a plea agreement. The doctor pointed out that none of the injectable botulinum toxin or lip fillers used by his Imperial Valley clinic from November 2016 to October 2020 had been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.
Dr Vo has admitted to purchasing most of the cosmetic drugs from a 'med spa' in Mexicali, Mexico. All these medicines were smuggled to America without informing them. He said that he used to get $100,767 for the services of unapproved drugs. As part of his plea agreement, the 47-year-old doctor agreed to pay restitution and a $201,534 fine to the victims.
