Cabinet: After the meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has informed about seven important decisions related to the agriculture sector. About Rs 14,000 crore is to be spent by the government on these schemes.

Among other major decisions, the Union Cabinet on Monday approved seven major schemes related to the agriculture sector, expenditure for which the government will incur around Rs 14,000 crore. The key initiatives include a Digital Agriculture Mission of Rs 2,817 crore, a scheme of Rs 3,979 crore on crop science.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, after the meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has said that these decisions were given the green signal by the Cabinet.

The Union Minister said that a program of Rs 2,291 crore was approved to strengthen agricultural education and management. He said that a scheme of Rs 1,702 crore has also been approved for the sustainable health of livestock and their production.

Among others, the cabinet has given the green signal to another big scheme of Rs 860 crore for the sustainable development of horticulture. Apart from this, Rs 1,202 crore will be spent on strengthening the Krishi Vigyan Kendras, while simultaneously, Rs 1,115 crore will be spent on the scheme related to the management of natural resources. In all, more than Rs 13,960 crore has been allotted to all seven schemes.
