BYD Seal EV will be launched in the Indian market on March 5, will get a tremendous range of 700 KM on a single charge
BYD Seal EV: BYD is all set to launch its third electric car in India. The design of the BYD Seal EV is influenced by the Ocean X concept which was showcased in 2021. In terms of looks, the Seal gets full-width LED taillights running the entire length of the boot lid along with crystal LED headlamps with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs.
In India, BYD is about to introduce its third electric vehicle. On March 5, the Chinese electric vehicle behemoth will introduce the Seal electric sedan. BYD's electric car lineup for India will include the Seal EV in addition to the Atto 3 and e6.
The debut of the BYD Seal EV took place at the January 2018 Auto Expo. It was originally scheduled to launch during the holidays, but that date was pushed back.
The Tesla Model 3 is a rival of the BYD Seal EV, which is currently available for purchase in international markets. The dimensions of the Seal EV are 1,875 mm in width, 1,460 mm in height, and 4,800 mm in length. This electric vehicle is built on the specific e-platform 3.0 of the EV manufacturer.
The design of the BYD Seal EV is influenced by the Ocean X concept, which was showcased in 2021. In terms of looks, the SEAL gets crystal LED headlamps with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, and full-width LED taillights running the entire length of the boot lid.
Talking about the interior, the Seal comes with premium looks and soft-touch materials. Inside the Atto 3, the dashboard features a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system. A 10.25-inch digital driver display has been installed. Two wireless charging pads and a heads-up display are among the other features.
The Blade battery technology from the firm is included with the BYD Seal EV. In international markets, it was first offered with two battery options. With a single charge, its 61.4 kWh battery can go 550 km. With a single charge, the larger 82.5 kWh unit can travel up to 700 km (CLTC). With the larger battery, BYD also provides a fast charging capacity of up to 150 kW, while the smaller pack has a fast charger capable of up to 110 kW.
In the Indian market, it will be offered in a more powerful dual-motor version with 523 bhp. 0-100 kmph comes in 3.8 seconds. BYD Seal will be a premium offering and is expected to be priced around Rs 65-70 lakh (ex-showroom, India). At this price, this model will compete with Kia EV6 and BMW i4.
