BYD Seal EV launched in the Indian market, will get a range of up to 650 km on a single charge; Price more than 40 lakhs
BYD India has finally launched the Seal EV in the domestic market. BYD will sell it with two battery pack options. There is a 61.44 kWh which will only be offered with the Dynamic Range variant and then there is an 82.56 kWh battery pack. The Dynamic Range and Premium Range variants will be offered with rear-wheel drive powertrains while the Performance variant comes with all-wheel drive powertrains.
The Seal EV has finally been introduced to the Indian market by BYD India. The launch of this electric sedan has been postponed after it was initially displayed in India at the Auto Expo 2023.
BYD will offer two different battery pack options for it. Two battery packs are available: a 61.44 kWh battery pack that is exclusively available with the Dynamic Range variant, and an 82.56 kWh battery pack that is available in two variants: Premium Range and Performance. It can be reserved for a nominal fee of Rs 1.25 lakh.
While the Performance variant has all-wheel drive, the Dynamic Range and Premium Range variants will have rear-wheel drive powertrains. All three variants produce different levels of power output. Their prices are ₹41 lahks, ₹45.55 lahks and ₹53 lahks respectively. All these prices are ex-showroom.
The Dynamic range produces 201 bhp and 310 Nm, while the Premium range produces 308 bhp and 360 Nm. Then there is the performance variant. In this, the combined power output from both the motors is 522 bhp and 670 Nm.
Dynamic range will be able to run up to 510 km on a single charge. At the same time, for the premium range, it has been claimed that its range is 650 km. Lastly, there is the Performance variant which has a claimed range of 580 km.
BYD will offer the Seal EV in four colour options – Aurora White, Cosmos Black, Atlantis Grey, and Arctic Blue. The electric sedan has already achieved a 5-star crash test rating through Euro NCAP and ANCAP.
The interior of the Seal has a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a digital driver display and a touchscreen infotainment system. It will also feature a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, wireless charging and Level 2 EDAS.
