Online marketplaces have made it possible to buy and sell almost anything. Now we can buy most of the things used in everyday life online, and we do not even need to go to the market and get pushed.
Sometimes normal things are listed on the e-commerce website at very high prices. If you thought that such staggering prices are only limited to exotic items, you might be wrong! An e-commerce site in America is selling Indian cots at a very high price.
Charpai is a basic bed made of wood and woven jute ropes and usually sells for around 2,000-10,000 rupees in India. However, on Etsy, it is being sold by an Indian seller for around 1.12 lakhs. It is listed as 'Traditional Indian Bed Very Beautiful Decor'.
The company has written in the description that it is made of good quality material and handcrafted. The bunk width is 36 inches, height is 72 inches. This traditional Indian bed is known by different names in different parts of India and South East Asian countries. In North India, it is called Manja, Khat, Khatiya, or Manji.
Selling cots at such a high price is not a new thing. Earlier, luxury fashion brand Balenciaga surprised people by launching its most expensive trash bag. The company was selling a simple garbage bag for one lakh 42 thousand rupees. The world's most expensive garbage bag was featured in the fashion house's Fall 2022 ready-to-wear collection.
