BSNL server breached, hacker gets 278GB data, even home address is included

News has come in for a breach in the server of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, BSNL. According to the report, about 278 GB of BSNL data has reached hackers. This data leak includes information about people's SIM cards like mobile numbers, home addresses, server security keys, etc. All this data can be used for wrong purposes, and with the help of this data, people can also be made victims of cyber fraud.

The digital risk management firm Athenian Tech has shared the information about this data leakage. According to them, this data leakage activity has been carried out by a hacker named kiberphant0m. It is said that this could be the nickname of any hacker or a group of hackers on the dark web. How far this information has been leaked by one or many hackers is not yet transparent.

The report mentioned some sensitive information, apart from users' information, in the leaked BSNL data. This leaked data includes a snapshot of the server. Apart from the International Mobile Subscriber Identity number, information like SIM card details, pin codes, and authentication keys got leaked.

Besides these, data from BSNL's SOLARIS server has also been leaked. This information, too, can be used to clone SIM cards. There is no official statement on the data leak by BSNL yet.
