There has been a stir over the murder of seven babies in a hospital in northern England. In this case, a British court found 33-year-old nurse Lucy Letby guilty on Friday of murdering seven newborn babies and attempting to murder six other babies.
According to the information received, nurse Lucy Letby intentionally caused harm to the children by empty injections, and consuming excessive amounts of milk or liquids in an attempt to kill them. Apart from this, the nurse had contacted her colleagues and also tried to take false consolation. At present, these colleagues have emerged as important witnesses against the nurse.
Lucy Letby first made her victim on June 8, 2015, a newborn named Baby A. After this incident, the British nurse informed her colleagues and came back and confronted the parents of the newborn. Baby Bee was also with Nurse Letby at that time.
Britain's Crown Prosecution Service revealed that between 2015 and 2016, Lucy Letby employed a number of methods to covertly assault a total of 13 babies in the hospital's neonatal ward. The CPS says Lucy Letby's motive was to kill the babies, but she led her co-workers to believe the deaths were natural.
Lucy Letby's final victims included infant O and infant P. Baby O died in June 2016, shortly after Lucy had returned from Letby's leave. According to the report, the prosecution said during the trial that at that time the nurse had started thinking of herself as God and was completely out of control.
One of the prosecutions stated that Lucy Lateby was enjoying the situation and was predicting things about which she had actual knowledge. Actually, the nurse was considering herself as God.
Lucy Letby seemed to enjoy harming newborns, she was arrested twice. However, she was released. Subsequently, in 2020, Lucy Letby was arrested and charged for the third time.
When police searched Lucy Letby's home, they found hospital papers and a handwritten note. It was written in this note- I am evil, I did this.
The prosecution alleged that Lucy was in a secret relationship with a doctor at Letby Hospital. To top it all, the doctor with whom Lucy was in a late-by-secret relationship was one of the doctors she consulted when the condition of the newborns deteriorated.
The prosecution showed the chat between the doctor and the nurse to the court. This makes it clear that even after Lucy Letby was removed from the neonatal ward in July 2016, she was still chatting with the doctor and sending love emojis to each other.
Juicy members were shown several notes written by Lucy Lateby. It was written in these notes – I killed him intentionally. On another note, it was written that I will never have children or get married.
According to the report, the prosecution presented evidence to the jury that made it clear that Lucy Letby's motive was to kill the babies, but she used to assure her co-workers that the deaths were natural.
