BMW India is going to introduce the 5 Series LWB in the Indian market on July 24. With luxury car sales on the rise, the manufacturer is looking to bring global models as quickly as possible to capitalize on the growing demand.

The latest BMW 5 Series was introduced in China in August 2023 with the electric i5 LWB after the introduction of the eighth generation 5 Series a few months ago. It will directly compete with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB, which is to be updated later this calendar year. It will be 145mm longer than the regular model and will have a wheelbase of 3,105mm.

It measures 5,175mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,520mm in height in China, with minor changes expected for the India-spec version. It will be sold alongside the 3 Series Grand Limo in the domestic market and will resemble the standard 5 Series in terms of the illuminated front grille design, headlamps, and taillights.

The bumpers will receive minor updates depending on the trim level, and the illuminated 5 emblem may be found on the Hofmeister kink. For performance, the new BMW 5 Series is expected to come with 2.0L turbocharged petrol and diesel mild-hybrid engines. Both will be paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard.

The equipment list will include a large 31.1-inch panoramic display screen with 5G connectivity and 8K resolution, B&W audio, 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, 4-zone automatic climate control, two-tone quilted seat upholstery, titanium bronze accents, controls with crafted clarity glass treatment and more.
