Bluesky became a hub of scams and pornography as soon as Trump became president; 42000 complaints received in a day
Bluesky, Spam on Bluesky: The safety account also said that these reports are being classified on a priority basis so that the content related to child abuse can be removed as soon as possible.
Elon Musk's social media platform X users are moving to Bluesky after Donald Trump was elected president. Former CEO and founder of Twitter Jack Dorsey established Bluesky. Similar to X, Bluesky is a microblogging platform.
Bluesky's safety account said in a post on November 15, "We have received more than 42,000 reports in the last 24 hours (the highest figure ever in a day). We are getting about 3,000 reports per hour, whereas in the whole of 2023, we received a total of 3.6 lakh reports." The safety account also said that these reports are being classified on a priority basis, so that child abuse content can be removed as quickly as possible.
BlueSky also said that more than three million (30 lakhs) users have joined the site in the last week. A majority of these used to be those looking for a different social media ecosystem from that offered by Elon Musk-owned X, formerly known as Twitter, with less radical content and misinformation.
Many media platforms, like the Guardian, are also saying that they are currently stopping posting from their official X handles, though some people are going to BlueSky even though its former CEO Jack Dorsey isn't any part of this company.
BlueSky's safety account said, "With this significant increase in users we have seen an increase in spam, scam, and trolling activities, you may have experienced it too. Our team is reviewing these accounts and you can also help by reporting us. Report by clicking on the three-dot menu given on every post/account."
