A case has been registered against seven users of social media platform X for spreading misinformation about the use of Amul brand ghee in laddus in Tirupati temple. The FIR states that seven X users spread misinformation which damaged the reputation of GCMMF. Amul has also given further clarification on this matter.

The issue pertaining to the addition of animal fat to the prasad laddu of TTD finds momentum these days throughout the country. The police have acted now in this regard, and a case was registered against seven users of the social media platform 'X' for allegedly spreading misinformation about the usage of 'Amul' brand ghee in laddus in Tirupati temple.

The FIR stated that the seven X users disseminated misinformation and ruined the reputation of GCMMF on the basis that animal fat Amul ghee was used in the temple 'laddus', or sweet offerings.

The case was registered at the Ahmedabad Cyber ​​Crime Police Station. The accused was booked under sections 336 (4) and 196 (1) (a) of the Indian Justice Code and relevant provisions of the Information Technology (IT) Act.

It also explained that we would also like to clarify that Amul Ghee is manufactured from milk in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities which are ISO certified. Amul Ghee is manufactured from high-quality pure milk fat. The milk received at our diaries undergoes quality checks including adulteration detection as specified by FSSAI. 

GCMMF has clarified on its X handle 'Amul.coop', 'We would also like to clarify that Amul Ghee is made from milk in our state-of-the-art production facilities. This post is being issued to stop this misinformation campaign against Amul.'

GCMMF Managing Director Jayen Mehta said that misinformation harms 36 lakh dairy farmer families dependent on Amul.
