Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck will begin an eight-day visit to India on Friday. This information has been given by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

He said the visit would provide an opportunity for both sides to review the entire gamut of bilateral cooperation and take forward the "exemplary" partnership.

The King of Bhutan will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is expected to discuss various aspects of close India-Bhutan relations.

The External Affairs Ministry on Thursday said External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and senior government officials will meet the King of Bhutan.

Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck will be on an official visit to India from November 3 to 10 along with senior officials of the Royal Government of Bhutan, a statement said. During this, many important issues will be discussed between the two countries.

The King of Bhutan will also visit the states of Assam and Maharashtra.

The Ministry of External Affairs said India and Bhutan enjoy unique relations of friendship and cooperation, characterized by understanding and mutual trust.

It said the visit will provide an opportunity for both sides to review the entire gamut of bilateral cooperation and take forward exemplary bilateral partnership in various fields.
