'Bhagavad Gita is the cornerstone of India's cultural heritage', Kerala Governor calls it scripture for the welfare of humanity
Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan spoke on the topic of a balanced nature-pure environment based on the Srimad Bhagavad Gita at the Ninth International Gita Conference organized under the International Gita Festival at Kurukshetra University in Haryana. During this, he said that the Bhagavad Gita, the cornerstone of India's cultural heritage, is a scripture for the welfare of humanity. Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya highlighted the message of the Gita for environmental protection.
Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan talked about "Balanced Nature-Pure Environment based on the Srimad Bhagavad Gita" at the Ninth International Gita Conference organized under the International Gita Festival at Kurukshetra University in Haryana on Thursday.
During this, he said that the Bhagavad Gita, the cornerstone of India's cultural heritage, is a scripture for the welfare of humanity.
Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya highlighted the message of the Gita for environmental protection. He described it as a holy text that provides solutions to the challenges of human life.
Kurukshetra University Chancellor Dattatreya inaugurated the conference by lighting the lamp and unveiling the souvenir. Kerala Governor Khan emphasized the role of Gita in environmental conservation. He stressed the importance of spreading its message across the world. This text presents the essence of Upanishads and Vedic texts, which reflect the unity and integrity of India.
Gita scholar Swami Gyananand Maharaj reiterated that the Bhagavad Gita gives a global message of environmental conservation. He said Kurukshetra, where these teachings originated, is a holy land.
He said the Gita provides solutions to life's problems through balance. Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd) expressed pride in the preservation of cultural values. He appreciated the efforts to celebrate the richness of Haryanvi traditions. Singh said a visit to Kurukshetra brings a sense of fulfillment.
The 18-day International Gita Mahotsav aims to help people understand the teachings of the Gita. The knowledge contained in the Gita helps a person to get out of the dilemmas and crises of life. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated this year's International Gita Mahotsav on the banks of Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra.
Tanzania is the partner country while Odisha is the partner state for the event, which will run from November 28 to December 15. However, the major events are from December 5 to December 11. The Haryana Mandap at Purushottampura Bagh located on the banks of Brahmasarovar was inaugurated by the Haryana Governor Dattatreya. The cultural ethos of Haryanvi was displayed with colored folk and heritage artwork at the Mandap.
Dattatreya also praised that Kurukshetra University is trying to establish Haryanvi Culture all over the world. On the same occasion, The Governor of Kerala, Khan, pointed out the role, it plays in educating youth about Haryana's ancient culture and heritage.
The Mandap portrays the essence of Haryanvi culture to a global audience as part of the International Gita Mahotsav celebrations. It serves as an educational tool for the younger generation about the rich traditions of Haryana.
