On Monday (April 7) in the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025), Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Mumbai Indians by 12 runs in a thrilling match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In this match, RCB scored 221 runs thanks to half-centuries from Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar and then restricted Mumbai Indians to 209 runs. But, in this match, RCB captain Rajat Patidar made a mistake during fielding, which caused him to suffer during and even after the match.
Actually, Rajat Patidar has been found guilty of slow overrate in this match. During the match, while he was punished for putting one less fielder on the boundary in the last over of Mumbai's innings, now the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has imposed a fine of Rs 12 lakh on him.
In a statement issued by the IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Rajat Patidar has been fined because his team maintained a slow over rate during match number 20 of IPL 2025 against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium.
This was his team's first offense of the season under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which deals with minimum over-rate offenses. For this, Rajat Patidar has been fined Rs 12 lakh.
