Barcelona made a winning start to this season of the Spanish La Liga. Barcelona beat Valencia 2-1 thanks to two goals from its star player Robert Lewandowski. Barcelona gave the gift of victory to its new manager Hansi Flick. Flick has taken over this position in place of Xavi Hernandez. After the match, Flick said, it was important to start with a win. We made some mistakes in the first half but corrected them in the second half. The goal scored by Lewandowski at the end of the first half came at the right time, which enabled us to come back into the match.

Barcelona's teenage player, Lamine Yamal's father, was attacked recently by some unknown people, after which he was admitted to the hospital. Despite all this, Yamal played for Barcelona. He played brilliantly. Lewandowski scored for the team on Yamal's pass.

Valencia dominated this first half against Barcelona similar to what it did in the reverse fixture. Hugo Duro gave his team a 1-0 lead in the 44th minute. But Lewandowski soon balanced things. Then in the fourth minute of the second half, Lewandowski turned the penalty into a goal, moving Barcelona ahead by 2-1. This lead remained till the end.

AC Milan made a surprising comeback from 0-2 down to manage a 2-2 draw in the opening match of Italy's Serie A league. The situation was more in favor of Torino when Malik Thiaw scored an own goal in the 30th minute to make it 1-0, then Duvan Zapata increased it to 2-0 for Torino in the 68th minute until the last minutes. But late goals from Álvaro Morata in the 89th and Noah Okafor in stoppage time drew the match 2-2.
