Banks will remain closed for 4 days from today i.e. from 28 to 31 January. Bank employees are going to go on strike on the 30th and 31st of January. On January 28, the fourth Saturday of the month and on January 29, a Sunday, banks would remain closed. In such a situation, people may have to face trouble. However, the facility of internet banking will continue during this period. With this, people will be able to do money transactions.
Regarding the strike, the country's largest bank State Bank of India (SBI) said that the two-day strike called by the Union Forum of Bank Unions on January 30-31 might affect the workers in their branch. Bank branch employees from all over the country will participate in this strike of bank employees. It would be better if the customers settle their work related to the branch beforehand.
SBI said that we have been informed by the Indian Banks' Association (IBA) that the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has issued a strike notice to the associations associated with UFBU i.e. AIBEA, AIBOC, NCBE, AIBOA etc. Bank employees have announced to go on a nationwide bank strike on 30 and 31 January 2023 to get their demands met.
AIBEA general secretary CH Venkatachalam said that the bank employees have 5 demands. Reform the first banking working culture, update the banking pension, abolish the National Pension System (NPS), revise the salary and make recruitment in all cadres.
Banks will not function from Saturday till Tuesday. Due to this, people will be sheltered at the ATM to withdraw money. In such a situation, withdrawing cash from ATM can also be affected.
