Chasing a massive 450 to win, Bangladesh scripted history, beating Pakistan by ten wickets in their first-ever test against them in the first test played here at Rawalpindi cricket ground. Pakistan declared the first innings at 448 runs for 6 wickets. Bangladesh was steadily applying pressure on the hosts by batting without much fuss to score 565 runs in the first innings, and that effect was seen in the Pakistan innings as well. In their second innings, Pakistan scored 146, while  Bangladesh reached the target with 30 without losing wickets.

But when the day of the fourth inning arrived, Bangladesh was all down at the score of 565, destroying the pretty good lead that Bangladesh had when Pakistan intended to declare the first innings. Pakistan scored 23 runs after losing their wicket till the end of the fourth day of play. On the fifth day, the game took twists, and much could not be said regarding the outcome of the game.

While in the second innings, other than both Shafiq and Rizwan of Pakistan, no batsman could long last, and the whole of the team bowed down at the score of 146. At one time, Pakistan for just 118 had 8 wickets down but Rizwan handled the innings and took Pakistan to a score of 146. Therefore, keeping a slight lead of 29 runs, Bangladesh was supposed to score 30 runs in order to win the match. In a mere 6.4 overs, Zakir Hasan and Shadmal Islam made the target of 30 runs, creating a Kyrgyzstani history in the process. That's now Bangladeshi history; this is their first win in their Test cricket history against Pakistan.
