Ban on Chinese Light in Jaipur

In the meeting of the Light Committee held in Greater Jaipur Municipal Corporation today, it has been decided to ban the use of Chinese lights. This is the first time that it has been decided not to use Chinese lights on Diwali. Accordingly, the committee has passed its proposal, so that in the coming time, they cannot be used in the light of Diwali. Apart from this, the action was also discussed in the meeting to take action against the firms which do not repair the city lights which are defective.
In this meeting held today under the chairmanship of Sukhpreet Bansal, Chairman, Light Committee, Greater Municipal Corporation, it was decided to ban the use of Chinese lights in the decorations to be held in the markets of Jaipur city on Diwali. Bansal said that we have decided that this time the lighting (decoration) in the markets should be done on a theme basis. As the 75th Amrit Mahotsav of Independence is being celebrated, then all the markets should be decorated on the same theme or if the city of Jaipur is identified with Pink City, then the whole city should be illuminated with pink lights. He said that a proposal has been passed regarding not using Chinese lights in this light and will also discuss with the traders in this matter.
The issue of bad road lights in the city also came up in the meeting. Chairman Sukhpreet Bansal said that the companies involved in the maintenance of road lights in the Municipal Corporation are not working on the ground. Due to this, today on record 3800 lights have been damaged in the city, whose complaints have also been made, but till now they have not been fixed. However, if we see the truth on the ground, more than 10 thousand road lights are lying in the market. He said that the maintenance of LED lights installed in the city is being paid from the cess being collected from the public.
In the meeting, all the committee members decided that the companies who repair the lights should be paid according to the repair of the lights. Right now a fixed amount of each light is being given towards maintenance. Whether it is bad throughout the year or not? For this reason, companies do not fix bad road lights.
