A 1.5-year-old girl was bitten by a snake in Alleri village of Vellore in Tamil Nadu. Parents and relatives took him to the government hospital, but they were delayed due to bad roads in the area. The girl died in the middle of the way. Doctors at the hospital declared him dead and conducted a postmortem on his body.
The parents of the girl named Dhanushka have been identified as Vijay and Priya. After the postmortem, the body was handed over to the parents. The girl's parents were sent home in an ambulance with the body, but the ambulance driver dropped them 10 km back from the village, seeing the bad road. After this, the parents reached home on foot carrying the dead body of the girl child.
After the incident, the relatives of the girl said that due to the bad road, there was a delay in reaching the hospital, due to which the girl died.
Earlier, in February, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin had written to Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari about the poor condition of the road connecting Chennai to Ranipet (NH-4). CM Stalin had claimed that the condition of the road was so bad that he had to plan his journey to Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur, and Tiruvannamalai districts by train.
